On Thursdays we share NEW MUSIC THURSDAY featuring recent discoveries, new acts we’re currently listening to and our tips for the future. Now more than ever we feel it’s so important to mine the corners of the internet to find some of the wonderful creativity that abounds.
Check out this week’s picks below:
Ora The Molecule – Creator
Ora The Molecule is the musical moniker of Norwegian-born avant-pop artist Nora Shjelderup. The trio recently announced their collaboration with legendary record label Mute. In addition to this announcement, they shared a new single “Creator”.
DWY – You & Me
South Londoner based in L.A, DWY released a new single “You & Me” via his label “Dreaming With You”. We urge you to listen out for more about him.
Merk – Laps Around The Sun
Australia’s Merk is the solo project of songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Perkins which began with the release of “Swordfish” in 2016. Merk is back with a new single “Laps Around The Sun” on Humblebrag Records.
Khazali – NYC to CFDG
We discovered Singer-songwriter Khazali with his summery single “You’ll be The One” and he is back with another banger “NYC to CDG” – go have a listen!
John Myrtle – Get Her Off My Mind
We’re long-time fans of John Myrtle, now based in London. John’s music is reminiscent of classic guitar-driven pop. John recently released “Get Her Off My Mind” on the great London label Sad Club Records.
Deep Tan – Camelot
Trio Deep Tan are one the best upcoming rising bands in the London scene. They make music that draws on the traditions of post-punk and new wave but with a distinctly modern take on the genres. Out on fab London label Practise Music, listen to their latest single “Camelot”.
Buscabulla – Eva
Born in Puerto Rico, the duo “Buscabulla” (“troublemaker”) moved to NY where they forged their unique sound: elevated bedroom productions and unique juxtaposition of stylistic highs and lows. Listen to their latest single “Eva” out on Ribbon Music.
